Our U.S. branch, Energy Resourcing Americas, has been tasked to identify applicants for a Sr. E&I Designer for our Energy client in Sugarland, Texas. Individual is an active member of project related activities. Familiar with DCS hardware products, connections, and preferred equipment layout. Participates in field surveys, gathering data necessary to perform detail design of instrument and electrical control systems in the refining, petro-chemical and pulp and paper industries. Prepares finished drawings, diagrams, and schedules as required for engineering, submittals, fabrication and/or installation from design drawings and specifications. Strong experience in Power Distribution for Control Systems and instrumentation. Knowledgeable in equipment used in Classified Areas (Class 1, Div 2, Grp BCD), Transformer sizing (480 VAC, 208 VAC, 120 VAC), Distribution Panels, small motors for Hazardous Areas. Knowledge of vendors who provide Electrical Equipment. Familiar with NEC 505, NFPA, and other electrical code Proficient with use of AutoCAD drafting software and DCS specific libraries. Works independently under direction from the Design Supervisor or designated Manager. DUTIES/RESULTS * Successfully execute multiple, small moderate projects to the defined scope, within budget, on schedule, and to the satisfaction of the customer (internal and external). * Review specifications and/or conduct site walk-downs to identify customer qualifications. * Prepares typical system architecture, panel, interconnect, loop, and termination drawings/marshaling information from BOM, project specifications, and established standards and conventions. * A proven work history to perform detailed systems design of P&ID development, Data highway communication networks (including fiber optics), cabinet and control room layouts and area classifications; motor schematics; construction scope of work (narrative format). * Assist with design, implementation, and testing of effective, maintainable, and well-documented control solutions that meet specifications, standards, and codes. * Prepares instrument and equipment lists and layouts. * Assists in the preparation of materials for proposals, presentations, submittals, and other technical publications. * Identifies quantities and materials required for production of assigned work. * Assists in the evaluation, selection, and procurement of supplies and materials required for drafting operations. * Maintain internal and external customer satisfaction. * Provide daily updates on work in progress, immediate notification of issues related to quality, cost, or schedule, and propose solutions as problems arise. * Understands, follows, and proposes improvements as needed to all YCA procedures that impact assignments. * Improve quality, reduce cost, and/or increase efficiency through standardization and reuse. * Organizes and maintains drawing files (paper and electronic) in proper order and condition for future retrieval and use. * Perform other duties as assigned. * Performs all work safely, contributes to improving safety in the workplace, and if/when supervising others is responsible for their safety QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK FOR ANY COMPANY IN THE US.
