Superintendent - Marine Job Summary Provide specialized marine and MODU operational support. Responsibilities include support of the daily operation of DP, moored and self-elevating drilling rigs and working with Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, Projects and SHE Departments to ensure safe and efficient operation and ensure rigs meet all required regulatory and corporate requirements. Travel to rigs to conduct marine inspections, carry out training, audits and investigate any marine related accidents or incidents. Experience Minimum of ten years previous experience with MODUS inclusive of dynamically positioned, moored and self elevating unit's with at least three years in a Deck or Engine Department management position working for a Drilling Contractor, plus experience in jack-up marine operations. Previous office based marine support / management experience to be taken into consideration. Principal Duties and Responsibilities · Responsible for providing guidance and measuring compliance with respect to station keeping (DP, moored and self-elevating), safe navigation and collision avoidance, general safety and pollution prevention, vessel stability, and regulatory compliance.· Ensure that all key marine operating personnel (DP, moored or self-elevating units) meet company's marine competency standards and are competent to carry out their duties.· Ensure that bridge management protocols are in place and utilized to ensure full liaison between all key marine personnel and drilling operations.· Support development of company marine policies, procedures, guidelines, standing orders and specific operational guidelines and ensure they are being adhered to.· Attend/conduct/review regularly scheduled audits of existing marine procedures, logs and marine equipment to ensure they are fit for purpose.· Provide rig move support and training.· Plan, review and ensure compliance to procedure for moving rigs into and out of ports when required.· Provide technical support and guidance to operations in marine situations ensuring the safety of the crew, equipment and the protection of the marine environment.· Provide marine support to Asset Management, Engineering, Projects, and SHE for maintaining the integrity of marine systems.· Perform inspections of wet and dry-tow vessels for ocean going rig moves and make recommendations on suitability.· Supervise towage and dry-transportation planning including dry-tow loadout and/or offloading.· Liaise with regulatory, government agencies, client representatives and marine surveyors as appropriate.* Attend/conduct/review vessel inspections and audits to confirm compliance with MODU Code (SOLAS as applicable), MARPOL, STCW, ILO Conventions, IMO resolution A[removed phone]), applicable IMCA guidelines and applicable industry codes. Verify that any corrective action is agreed and implemented within the required timescales.* Participate in incident investigations and verify that investigations are carried out effectively and that appropriate corrective action is agreed upon and implemented in a timely manner.* Act as a member of the regional Emergency Response Team during an emergency.* Manage special projects as assigned by Management.* Keep current on marine industry standards, practices and methodologies as well as regulatory requirements.QualificationsEducation, Training, Licenses and/or CertificationsUnlimited STCW II/2 or III/2 mariner license (USCG or Liberia preferred)Nautical Institute DP Operator certificate or strong knowledge in DP systems required.Maritime academy and/or Bachelor's degree from accredited college, university, preferred Minimum Requirements
